We are entering the age of IT platformization

According to Gartner, we are entering the third era of enterprise IT. First was IT Craftsmanship, where it was a specialized field and only few people and organizations possessed the skills or were using it. Then came IT Industrialization, when IT became widespread and there were a lot of point solutions available and a number of development tools were created. Now, we are entering IT Platformization, where traditional software is being re-architected to take advantage of technologies like cloud and mobile. Platformization provides scalability and reusability to extend common services across all applications.

Cassini Platform is built from the ground up to provide us with the scalability, flexibity and reusability across all our solutions. Following picture shows you a high level overview of our platform.

Cassini Platform is built with four building blocks: CLOUD, MOBILE, SOCIAL, GAMIFICATION. Convergence of these four in our platform and our solutions provides our customers affordability and competitive advantage that they can't find anywhere else.


All of our products and solutions are offered as software-as-a-service (SaaS) in the cloud. This eliminates the need for investing heavily in IT infrastructure, expensive software and personnel to manage them. Cloud-based solutions are cost-effective and takes away the hassle of regular upgrades and maintenance. Cloud architecture helps us with both web and mobile applications. It also offers us the scalability we need as our business and customer base grows.


Mobile is revolutionizing the way software is developed and delivered. "Information at your finger tips" is now becoming a reality with mobile technologies. Cassini Systems has adopted mobile technologies in earnest and provides mobile applications complementing many of our web applications. Mobile applications offer more personalized user experience by taking advantage of features like location based services and accessibility. And use of mobile technologies in business is rising quickly.


We all know how social technologies like Facebook and Twitter have changed our personal lives. Now these technologies are finding their way into the business world. Enterprise social collaboration uses the concepts of social networking and next-gen communication technologies to foster increased teamwork and knowledge sharing, for the purpose of improving business outcomes. Social tools can boost employee productivity, increase everyday success within any business, and be a key differentiator between successful and unsuccessful internal collaboration.


We want to make work fun for businesses. For this we have integrated different techniques of gamification into our platform. Gamification is the concept of applying game mechanics and game design techniques to engage and motivate people to achieve their goals. Gamification techniques strive to leverage people's natural desires for Competition, Achievement, Status, Altruism, Collaboration, and many more. Businesses can use Gamification to drive desired user behaviors that are advantageous to their organization. One common technique of Gamification is to increase engagement by rewarding employees who accomplish desired tasks. Gamification includes a number of psychological concepts, especially regarding motivation, behavior, and personality. Rewards such as Badges and Points are used to elevate status by showcasing the talents, expertise, and accomplishments of users. Competition is another technique that is used in gamification. The desire to appear on the leaderboard drives employees to complete more tasks, in turn fueling deeper engagement.

Enterprise gamification will soon eclipse consumer gamification and by the end of 2015 40% of Global 1000 organizations will use gamification as the primary mechanism to transform their business operations.
